Hellhound On My Trail is definitely a vocal-based album as the growls are sheer nail and smash like a deeper and keener version of Mikael Stanne, conveying such a scratching agony you can feel the rhythm guitar chords whirling inside of you. Graveyard After Graveyard combines the talents of Jocke Ringdahl (ex-Paganizer, Sinners Burn) on drums; the ubiquitous Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Ribspreader, etc.) on guitar, bass, and vocals; and Mika Lagreen (ex-Facebreaker, Grave) on lead guitars and solos. There’s a lot of death metal pedigree in those names listed above, but Hellhound On My Trail is more oriented to melodic death/thrash metal with touches of punk spirit. Everything is tied by a rabid atmosphere which is a good seal for the entire album. On five tracks (and a track noise-experiment) Rogga shows that he is the man of thousand projects, and he knows how to compose in order that these projects don’t sound the same each other. At least it is not what is meant to be, and here denotes thick roots in basic stuff. Again, it’s fresh flesh recommended for his large fan base.
