Gudars Skymning was formed back in 2006 in the Laplandic woods and mountains in the far north of Sweden. The band draws their inspiration from the heavy rock of the sixties and seventies, blues, the traditional Swedish folk music, and the Swedish prog that was big in the seventies and sings in their native language. The band selfreleased febut album Dansa Tillbaks Till Din Grav (Dance Back To Your Grave) in 2008 caught the attention from several labels and the band soon signed a record deal. Jump forward to 2016 and its times for the band to released their fourth album, Till Detta Var Jag Nödd Och Tvungen. Just like on earlier releases, all the basics are recorded live with the whole band in the same room to capture the right feeling. This time they deliver an album with a dystopian undertone without loosing anything of their sound. You can still hear their trademarks which is groovy, heavy riffs and Swedish lyrics. A mix of Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Mountain and Swedish progg. Fans of Magnolia and Abramis Brama should definitely check this out.
