Description
Gun was a Scottish hard rock band formed in 1987 by brothers Giuliano (guitar) and Dante (bass) Gizzi, with Mark Rankin (vocals), Scott Shields (drums) and Baby Stafford (guitar). Signed in 1989 by A&M Records, they released their debut album Taking on the World. Alex Dickson replaced Baby Stafford before the release of their second album Gallus. My personal opinion is that this is the best album the band ever did. From the classic opening track Steal Your Fire to the high class Watching The World Go By that ends the album, this album has all the passion and power a great album need. Gun really can rock and power ballad with the best of them. Its a pity the band strayed away from this formula that really worked for them. On later albums they tried out both rap-metal and brit-pop efforts and it never worked, it sounded contrived and unnatural. When it comes to British rock this is an overlooked gem Track listing: 1. Steal Your Fire 2. Money To Burn 3. Long Road 4. Welcome To The Real World 5. Higher Ground 6. Borrowed Time 7. Freedom 8. Wont Back Down 9. Reach Out For Love 10. Watching The World Go By
