Still sealed. Danish pressed music cassette. Black cassette with purple text.

Hands Of Orlac is an Italian doom metal act that moved to Sweden and released their debut self titled album on a Danish label in 2011. Then followed it up 3 years later with their second album Figli Del Crepuscolo. Hands Of Orlac has a horror-influenced sound that sounds very much like a metal soundtrack to the classic European Gothic films of the 1960s. Frontwoman/flautist The Sorceress has a great voice for this style; her voice is warm and inviting, seductive even, but also dark. Like Barbara Steele in the classic Bava film Black Sunday, her vocals on Figli del Crepuscolo play with the duality of beauty and horror. This is not accidental, as Hands of Orlac have used Steele as an inspiration before; the Steele film Castle of Blood was a lyrical topic on Hands of Orlac’s debut album. The flute is incorporated tastefully and complements the music, rather than being a gimmicky distraction. Female-fronted traditional metal/psychedelic doom, complete with a flute, may not be for everyone. Obviously horror-influenced metal bands are common, but not many capture the spirit of the source material like Hands Of Orlac. Figli Del Crepuscolo is a loving homage to a classic era in film and anyone fond of the European classics of the 60s and 70s and doom ought to check out this band.
