Still sealed 2011 official remastered Argentina pressing on Icarus Music with 4 bonus tracks from the Pray For Death demo

Heathen were basically one of the numerous speed/thrash metal bands to surface on the US west coast in the eighties. Not surprisingly, their debut Breaking The Silence is pretty standard speed/thrash, somewhat melodic but heavy. On the downside, the vocals sound a bit tame for this kind of music and the songs are not very distinctive or creative. The album was well received critically and featured one very successful single, a cover of the 1970s glam rock band Sweet’s song “Set Me Free”. The song got some rock radio airplay and the video received rotation on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball. The musicianship in the band is quite good, and as a whole Breaking The Silence is sufficiently listenable.
