Swiss rock act Henchman’s debut album Unmistaken received notable reviews at home and abroad. Metal Hammer UK dedicated an article to them among the 20 most interesting newcomers of 2007, and there were also positive reviews from Germany’s big rock magazines (Rock Hard, Legacy, etc). And if youre a fan of Helmet then check out Henchman because they are cleary influenced by said band, which is simply rooted in honest rock music. The calm, melancholic voice of singer/guitarist Roger Haemmerli may sound a bit monotonous at first, but by the time the semi-ballad Embrace has arrived you can hardly imagine any other voice to fit this band. But its not all about melancholy. The trio also knows how to spread positive vibes. The single Right Or Wrong brings in some sunshine and One Moer Lap To Go will remind you of Therapy?. But this is an interesting and mixed album. There are some really heavy tracks as well. Plan B sounds stoner and A Little Bit Less could be Nu metal. Overall a band and an album that shows a huge potential and its easy to hear why Metal Hammer took notice and wrote them down on their most interesting list.
