After leaving V8, guitarist Osvaldo Civile formed Horcas in August of 1988. During the years the band would almost become as legendary in their home country Argentina as V8. Horcas has played support to many of the major acts such as Metallica, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Kreator, Exodus. In 1993 the band were put on hold as the members needed some time off. They were however soon back together recording some demos and after 5 years of recording silence Horace returned with a punishing slab of fast-paced thrash metal. Vence shows a band that has includes a bit more melody than before but still with an impressive load of thrashy riffs. The band’s line-up has changed almost completely; the only two remaining members of the old era are the bassist Topo Yanez and the guitar hero and band leader Osvaldo Civile. A new drummer, guitarist and an incredible high-pitched vocalist called Walter Meza were recruited for the recording of this album. Going through the bands history you will notice that several vocalist were tried out before settlling on Walter and he really belts out some wailing and high-pitched screams that you can’t help but love. Overall a welcome return from this band. If you like great riffs, high-pitched vocals, thrash metal, speed metal then its time to discover Horcas. The last track on the album shouldnt been take to serious though. Its sung by founder Osvaldo Civile. He really is a tuneless vocalist and the other members laugh at him after he finishes singing that track. Looking back it feels like a nice thing to have as Civile would be gone two years after the albums release. Its still unclear if he was murdered or if it was an act of suicide.
