For those not in the know, Horisont is one of the newest bands to come from Sweden. Over the last few years there has been a boom in the Swedish retro/stoner rock scene. Witchcraft, Graveyard,Troubled Horse, and Dead Man just to name a few. So how does this album stand up to the likes of the more established groups? Well they hold their own. I would consider them to be just a notch below Witchcraft but right on par with Graveyard. Their debut features 10 tracks and right off the bat starts out with a bang. The short but sweet Nightrider will give you an idea of what this band is capable of. Just Aint Right is a more up tempo groove. Just a nice variety from begining to end of moody guitar riffs, bluesy vocals and tracks in English and a few in Swedish such as Du Rode and Visa Vagen. The debut Tva Sidor Av Horisonten – or Two sides of (the) Horizon for non-Swedish speakers impressed Rise Above Records so much that they had add them to their roster.
