Hypnosia’s debut album Violent Intensity was recorded during just six days back in the summer of 1998. Newer kids dont really understand what this recording meant back in 1998. Ten to fifteen years later the musical scene would be full of thrash metal copycats trying to sound like the good old days. However in 1998-1999 thrash metal was more or less dead. The bands that were still around didnt sound like they had done in the past and then came this Swedish band and delivered some of the best thrash metal (with this EP and the following Extreme Hatred album) we have heard for a long time and the demand was there. Titles like ‘Violent Intensity’, ‘The Storms’ and ‘Extreme Hatred’ don’t only sound cool, but truly reflect the band’s music in all its non-compromising glory. Expect to hear a great load of angry thrash metal the German way. With a running time for 20 minutes it might not sound much but rest assured that if you are hungry for memorable riffs and genuine aggression you will adore these 20 minutes. The band arent around anymore but the memories are still alive and when a cassette release shows up approx 20 years of its original release then you know the demand is still there. Thrash to death, speed kills, buy or die or whatever. This really is worth your support
