Dimhymn from Stockholm, Sweden is a black metal project by Nattdal more famous for his stint with the more famous Ondskapt. It all started in 2003 as a one man project but after two demos and a full length album, Nattdal received drum help from Alex aka Nordsjal. In the summer of 2006 the band released a split album with the productive black metal act from Jonkoping, Hypothermia. The track ‘Projecktil’ features Wredhe of Ondskapt on vocals. The Hypothermia track ‘Fran Ert Depraverat Inre’ starts slow but builds up and gradually increases in intensity. The guitars playing a rather slow, sombre number before the pain-induced vocals scream their way into the foreground. Although the vocals aren’t probably considered the most experimental in black metal history, they are without a doubt affective at what they’re attempting to do. The pain of the vocals is very much carried over into the audience. Hypothermia has always been vastly skilled at displaying the negativity of human emotion. The way in which they portray it is done superbly. Slow and rather mournful guitars. The static nature of the drums, patterns which tend to repeat themselves like the way rain drops fall from the sky. This track is the sheer highlight of the album.
