Few Norwegian festivals can equal the international status that Inferno now holds. With a solid focus on the best bands on the Norwegian metal scene, the Inferno Festival in Oslo has built up a strong reputation as one of Scandinavia’s most important outlets for extreme music. In its third consecutive year, the Inferno Festival continues to grow and is now the Norwegian metal community’s most important gathering. This year’s headliners include some of the metal scene’s most vital acts: Immortal, The Kovenant, Entombed, Red Harvest and Necrophagia. The preceding festivals caused such massive response from bands and audience alike that the Inferno committee has chosen to expand this year’s event into a three-day extravaganza of extreme music. In 2002 the Inferno festival drew 50 foreign journalists representing niche publications such as Metal Hammer and Terrorizer but also larger TV networks and radio chose to focus on the festival which is held at the Rockefeller Concert Hall in Oslo. 2003 years headliner Immortal were founded in Bergen and has during the years established themselves as one of the most important black metal bands in the world. The last original member Abbath (Doom Occulta) is one of the most charismatic frontman in this genre, and their live shows are legendary. This limited album features the band live from their headlining show at Inferno 2003 on the 18th of April 2003 and it features songs from all the albums, a diehard crowd and an atmosphere impossible to describe. It was no wonder that the band chosed Inferno 2007 for their first reunion gig after the 4 year break.
