Ianna from Santiago is a interesting technical death metal act and their second album, Transfigured In A Thousand Delusions, is their most progressive album so far. Think technical thrash metal acts such as Voivod, Mekong Delta, Savage Choir, Masquerader and Osiris (The Netherlands) mixed with death metal. However Inanna is far from a normal progressive death metal act. This band refuse to narrow themselves to a particular style of death instead they are linking the death metal’s history to the future. They are evolving the death metal framework presenting a vision of where the genre could have gone after or instead of the big late 90s to mid 2000s paradigm shift. Few bands are like Inanna because few approach the genre’s fundamentals from this perspective. Unique high tempo, consistency and melody all buried in the history of death metal. More death metal devotees should hear this. We all know the Swedish and Florida death metal pasts but the current Chilean death metal scene is very interesting.
