Description

Infernal Stronghold from Philadelphia is a blackened thrash crust band that was formed in 2001. They released several demos and a split before releasing their debut album Excommunicated in 2007. The thrashier leanings of black metal consists of elements that also can be found in crust punk. I would say that the band most of all resembles classic black metal era Darkthrone and Aura Noir. The riffs are classic black metal but a few of them lean towards a crust and hardcore sound and there are a couple outright thrash riffs too. These various different kinds of riffs helps give the record more a feeling of relentlessness. The vocals are similar to those of Nocturno Culto except more feral and vicious. They also have a couple re-recorded bonus tracks from their demo days as final tracks. These a bit more classic crossover styled.
