Still sealed double cd
With Bruce Dickinson back in the band and with a new album, Brave New Words, the band hit the road with newly founded energy. This album captures the band live at the Dynamo Open Air Festival at Nijmegen in Holland on the 3rd of June 2000. The group’s three guitar army — Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers — trade off blistering solos, each basking in their signature styles, then weaving into lush multi-part harmonies to add some sweetness to the mix. And while the rhythm section of bassist Steve Harris and drummer Nicko McBrain kept a galloping pace, singer Bruce Dickinson remained the consummate carnival barker, leading the crowd in anthemic singalongs with his jaw-dropping tenor before urging the audience to clap, sway and scream louder at every opportunity. There is a silence between each tracks that takes away some of that live experience but the sound is overall warm and the band is in fine form. Classics such as The Number Of The Beast and The Trooper are here together with several tracks off their new opus Brave New World. The band still has the onstage antics and energy as a teenage rock band, strutting, posing and throwing the devil horns because it looks cool. There were many instances where the members would wrap their arms around each other while someone was giving a particularly impressive solo, or touch the neck of a friend’s guitar and overall seeming to have fun on stage, That charge, conjured from grade-A heavy metal, is sure to keep Iron Maiden energized through several more world tours.
