Description

Reduced price due to some small marks on the cd Ever since Iron Maiden first put their feet on South American soil on the eve of the first Rock in Rio festival in 1985, there has been an indestructible bond between the British metal icons and the vast and passionate metal community of Brazil. As Bruce himself has said: ‘The further south we go, the hotter it fucking gets’. In 1996, with a new singer in the line-up Blaze Bayley, Maiden came back to Brazil to headline the third edition of the Brazilian Monsters Of Rock Festival. The fans were more than curious to see the new band live. 45,000 fans packed the Pacaembu Stadium in Sao Paulo on the 24th of August to see Maiden and a very strong bill that included Motorhead, Skid Row, Helloween, Biohazard, King Diamond, Mercyful Fate, Raimundos and Heroes Del Silencio. This was the bands biggest crowd on The X-Factour and Blaze Bayley was very nervous and he botches the lyrics of Wrathchild and mumbles the lyrics he forgot on Lord Of The Flies. Overall the band played a blinding gig and the whole stadium sang along with both the old classics and the new songs. You could see the happiness on Steve Harris face at the end of the concert. The sound quality on this album is excellent suggesting that it might be a soundboard recording. However it’s a single disc which means its not the full concert and its heavily edited and all of the in between-song talking has been cut, as well as a several songs. The beginning of the first guitar solo on Man On The Edge isn't played, and the part that is played is barely audible; the song is also shortened by a very clever cut/splice. The intro of Fear of the Dark is cut off. The back cover is also full of errors: Falling Down instead of Man On The Edge; Blood On The Worlds Hands are called Bass Intro/Out Of Control and the strangest of them all, Sign Of The Cross is here named The Name Of The Rose. Track listing: 1. Man On The Edge 2. Wrathchild 3. Heaven Can Wait 4. Lord Of The Flies 5. Fortunes Of War 6. Blood On The Worlds Hands 7. The Evil That Men Do 8. The Aftermath 9. Sign Of The Cross 10. 2 Minutes To Midnight 11. Fear Of The Dark 12. The Clairvoyant 13. Iron Maiden
