Picture disc with cover sleeve Preparing for Rock Am Ring 2014 meant packing your raincoat and preparing for the worst but as it turned out the temperature on the thermometer crept up and it turned out to be an excellent weather condition for the excellent first day of this German festival. The headlining act for the first of the four days at the Nurburgring were the mighty Iron Maiden. The British metal heroes were almost done with the Maiden England tour and after the Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park gigs the band return back home for a well deserved rest. The Maiden England Tour was based on the 1988 set list from the Seventh Tour Of A Seventh Tour. Singer Bruce Dickinson announced before the tour started: We have tweaked the Maiden England set list a bit to make it more representative of our whole 80s era and to give the fans something a bit different, especially as this will be the last of our three tours with an historical perspective. However from an audience perspective you couldnt see that this was the end of the tour. The band didnt seem tired a bit and especially frontman Bruce Dickinson seemed to be tireless and jumped back and forth across the stage like he was twenty-four again. The two hour performance had everything you could desire and the stage show and some surprised in almost every track. The Ring Rockers could also participate in the birthday celebration of drummer Nicko McBrain before the band finished their set with Sanctuary.
