Description
In 1986 Iron Maiden headed back on the road again in support of Somewhere In Time, their most adventurous release since Killers. For this tour, the band made use of guitar synths. The tour was not as long or gruelling as the World Slavery Tour had been, but featured an extensive stage set which was loosely based on the futuristic Somewhere In Time album cover complete with a cyborg Eddie. This tour was also the first time the band used keyboard live and it was Steve Harris bass tech Michael Kenny that played live and augment the sound. An undeniable highlight of the show was an unaccompanied guitar solo played by both Dave and Adrian loosely based on a tune called "Walking In The Air". The tour started on the 10th of September in Belgrade and ended on the 21st of May of 1987. This limited double album was recorded very early on the tour namely at the Eisstadion Liebenau in Graz, Austria on the 15th of September. The rare track on this disc is ‘Flight Of Icarus’ as it was only performed a few times during the tour. All other tracks were performed each night on the tour Track listing: 1. Blade Runner theme-intro 2. Caught Somewhere In Time 3. 2 Minutes To Midnight 4. Sea Of Madness 5. Children Of The Damned 6. Wasted Years 7. Rime Of The Ancient Mariner 8.
