Description

Limited picture disc with numbered insert Iron Maidens third album The Number of the Beast was released on the 29 March 1982, and quickly became a commercial success around the world. The album has sold 14 million copies worldwide (up to 2011). It was the band's first effort to top the UK charts, entering the Top 40 directly at number 1 on 10 April. It entered the Billboard 200 and reached top 15 in countries like Austria, Norway, Sweden and Canada. The band really was reborn with singer Bruce Dickinson and they went out on a massive tour to support the album. The Beast On The Road tour is one of Iron Maiden's longest tours to date, only to be surpassed by the World Slavery Tour in length. The tour started in Dunstable in England on the 25th of February before the release of the album and would go on until the 10th of December 1982. The band would perform 187 gigs in total. At the start of the tour up to June the band would do Total Eclipse on the set however the track was dropped during the summer before the band went out on the North American part of the tour. This album is recorded at the Sindelfinger Messehalle in Stutgart on the 29th of April 1982. Its a soundboard recording with nice sound however its only featuring 5 tracks and unfortunately it lacks the track Total Eclipse that would have made the album a bit exclusive. Track listing: 1. Run To The Hills 2. Phantom Of The Opera 3. Sanctuary 4. Hallowed Be Thy Name 5. Drifter
