Description
Double album on white vinyls with gatefold cover, OBI-strip and poster.
In the summer of 2006 Iron Maiden released their fourteenth studio album, A Matter Of Life And Death, and of course this involved touring. 90% of the performances on this tour were sold out far in advance, and tickets for the show in the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch, Holland, on the 27th of November, had not been available for months. But before the band took the stage, Trivium and Lauren Harris were allowed to warm up the room. But the band everyone had come for was obvious Iron Maiden. If you hadn’t heard about the setlist beforehand, it might come as a nasty surprise, because the band decided to play the new album A Matter Of Life And Death in its entirety. Anyway, it takes a lot of confidence and guts to do that, and I think they got along pretty well. Okay, a song or two less would have been okay, but judging by the long applause the band got after The Longest Day, it seemed to be going pretty well. If you mainly want to hear old songs, you should check it out in 2008, this tour was for the new album and the British wanted to show that too. Despite the fairly good reception of the first ten songs, the audience really went crazy with the first sounds of Fear Of The Dark. During title song Iron Maiden mascot Eddie of course made his appearance again. This time, the decor was converted into a tank, including spinning tracks and Eddie emerging from the turret. So it was finally something different from just Eddie. During The Evil That Men Do in the encore he came back, but then walking in uniform. Those are the highlights of an Iron Maiden show, because the fans always go wild when he shows up. Fortunately, the sound in the Brabanthallen was very good, and the presence of 2 large screens ensured that everyone could see what was happening on the otherwise very large stage. So it was a massive show with a perfect sound and most fans had a great time then theres always some older fans that came only for the classics, these might have gone home a bit dissapointed.
