Jigs was a Swedish dance band founded in 1966 in Trollhättan. The band had great success in the 1970s with their minor hit Hallå Du Gamle Indian. The band’s album series went under the name Goa Bitar and their sixth studio album Goa Bitar 6 was released in 1976. This was the album the band went out and toured with when they made it into the history books for another reason as well. At the Cortina place in Vinberg on the 16th of July 1976 the Australian band Ac/dc performed as halftime entertainment. As soon as Ac/dc guitarist Angus Young hit the first note the electricity in the whole town was blackend thanks to a power failure. When the show finally could start then the Jigs audience was shocked by the Young brothers and Bon Scotts appearance. The Swedish dance crowd wasnt prepared for rock n roll of that volume and sheer energy.
