Description

1992 cd edition

Jim Steinman didn’t invent theatrical rock & roll, but it could be argued he perfected it. Through his songs for Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion, and Air Supply, Jim Steinman defined bombastic theatrical rock. Steinman’s solo discography may be meager — he released just one album in his decades-long career, 1981’s Bad for Good — but his signature is indelible: bombastic melodies delivered with the melodrama of opera, the volume of arena rock, and the angst of teensploitation. No matter the singer, the sound remained the same. Steinman lacks the range to really make his songs pop out like Meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler can but his voice is still decent and if you like his song writing style, then you will find this album a great little gem. Steinman has a clear vision and probably hears the music in his head, and it is operatic in scale. Anyone that are interested in Steinman’s work, should really get this album. Its a pure bombastic master at work.
