Description
German edition with ‘Freedom Wings’ instead of ‘Breaking Away’ and with the bonus track ‘Too Blue To Sing The Blues’ Joe Lynn Turner is an internationally known recording artist with 8 world tours and over 7 millions albums sold. After 4 LP's on RCA Records with his native New Jersey band Fandango, the renowned guitarist Ritchie Blackmore asked him to join his band Rainbow. Several hit albums later, he embarked on a solo career, recording one album titled "Rescue You". Touring with the likes of Pat Benatar, Night Ranger and Loverboy, he gained even greater exposure and recognition for his own talents as a singer / songwriter. Seeking further musical collaboration, he joined forces with the innovative guitarist Yngwie J Malmsteen to record the studio album ‘Odyssey’, another world wide million seller, as well as the live in Leningrad ‘Trial By Fire’, documenting a 5 week tour of Russia. After some well-earned rest and relaxation, he was again approached by Mr. Blackmore to add his vocal styling to the reformed legendary group, Deep Purple. The ensuing record ‘Slaves and Masters’ again re-established Turner as one of the rock's premier vocalists. As if this wasn't enough, Turner still found time to lend his vocal talent to such stars as Billy Joel, Cher, Michael Bolton, Bonnie Tyler, Taylor Dane, Paul Carrack, John Waite and countless others of renown. Turner has aslo been extremely busy producing and performing solo projects. ‘Nothings Changed’ in 1995, ‘Under Cover’ in 1997, ‘Under Cover 2’ in 1999, ‘Hurry Up And Wait’ in 1999 and now ‘Holy Man’ in 2000. However even if there have been a lot of material released with Turner during the last ten years I would still regard ‘Holy Man’ as one of the best. The songs on this album remind a lot of the two Hughes Turner project albums and if you like those albums I can guarantee you'll find pleasure in this effort. It sure seems as Turner have put a lot energy into the song writing and even if it doesn't work all the way there's enough of great songs (‘No salvation’, ‘Holy man’, ‘Anything’, ‘Midnight in Tokyo’, and ‘Too blue to sing the blues’) to please any fan of either Deep Purple, Rainbow, Hughes Turner Project or Joe Lynn Turner's previous work. And by the way, don't forget to check out Joe Lynn Turner's "Under cover 1" & "Under cover 2" – two excellent cover albums. Track listing: 1. No Salvation 2. Holy Man 3. Anything 4. Honest Crime 5.
