John William Lowery, alias John 5, became famous when he replaced Zim Zum in Marilyn Mansons band in 1998. It was Marilyn who gave him his name as he was the fifth member to join the band. John would later go on and play with Rob Zombie before becoming a permanent member in Motley Crue. His first solo album, Vertigo, was released in 2004. Its an incredible collection of sounds on the album. Its instrumental but honestly its something for everyone, from heavy metal shredding to bluegrass pickin, the album has it all. So if you appreciate electric guitar playing being raised to the level of virtuoso and can be into anything from metal and funk to country and even fit in some spookiness then you will enjoy this fine offerings. The album showcases what a fine guitarist John really is and its a refreshing breath of fresh air.
