Joybells was formed in Orebro back in 1963 and they were one of the first Swedish gospel choirs. Originally named Immanuel Church Youth Choir but changed name to Joybells in 1968. The name was taken from one of the first songs that the choir sang, ahead of an international tour. The choir later became one of the most popular choirs in Sweden. This single was released on the local based Active Music Productions and it was recorded at Studio Kuling in 1986. Studio Kuling was based in Oerbro between 1983 and 2002 and it was driven by Swedish sound designer and engineer Jonas Kuling. Kuling was heavily used for many local theatricals, revues and live performances. He participated on most Active Music Productions releases, including Motherlode The Sanctuary album. Some of the musicians on this recording are Mats Frändå (pianist who later went to One Way Brothers), Mikael Öman (bassist who later played with Terra Nova ), Kjell Neander (has worked with several local artists such as De Funkar, Lasse P.P. Nylén and Christina Lindberg) and Magnus Spångberg, the Swedish pianist and keyboardist that was a go to worker within the Christian community if you wanted a professional work done. Spångberg has worked with artists such as Carola, Frank Ådahl, Roland Utbult, Sanna Nielsen and Cyndee Peters.
