Extremely rare original Romanian pressing on Electrecord Records

Kapela from Pitesti in Romania was formed in 1991 and they managed to record one album at the Tomis Electrecord Studio that got released in 1995. And its a very interesting album when it comes to heavy metal from the eastern bloc. Bands from this part of the world rarely follows any path and Kapela is no different. This is thrash metal but it incorporates some punk and prog elements. Vocalist Robert Turcescu sings in English (ofcourse with a dialect). Mr Turcescu later went on and became one of the countries more well known journalists. There isnt much documented about the Romanian hardrock scene but Kapela’s Rock My Way album was one of the last vinyls to be released in Romania. Turcescu also performs guitar and the technical parts lies a lot in the structure of the songs and the guitar work as some bass lines feels rather monotonous while at other times its interplaying with the guitar work more succesful. The more I listen to this album the more I like about it. Turcescu sometimes tries to sound angry and it points I would have loved to hear some of theese tracks with Dave Mustaine’s snarling voice. At the end we have the funky and angry R.A.T.B. and the slow ballad like I Want You. Anyone interested in the 90s Eastern Bloc thrash metal needs to hear this. A good thrash album
