Khors, atmospheric pagan black metal act from Kharkiv, Ukraine, released their second album back in 2006. And its an atmospheric black metal in its purest form. Features amazing guitar solos by Wortherax (Twilightfall, ex-Nokturnal Mortum) and keyboards by maestro Saturious (ex-Nokturnal Mortum). The band mixes the styles of countrymates Nokturnal Mortum and Drudkh to create some good quality atmospheric Black Metal. While the album has its share of rocking moments, complete with a tasteful use of blast beats, it is overall a rather melodic, slow to mid-paced proposition with a poignant, omnipresent melancholic atmosphere that will either send the listener into a lightly depressive state or, best case scenario, invoke images of vast and peaceful landscapes. Fans of Nokturnal Mortum and Drudkh should find Khors to be right up their alley.
