Description
A massive and beautiful box set featuring 4 pictures discs in individual sleeves, poster, 5 photos, flag, sticker and a massive 76 page booklet
Lisa Robinson, in her syndicated Rock Talk newspaper feature reported what was ultimately to become the road-map for the band for the rest of 1977 in early June: In July, the band begins a Canadian tour. Then in August, Kiss will perform all over the West Coast — they missed it last time around — with a possible four shows at Los Angeles’ Forum. One of those Forum dates may be recorded for their next live album, to be released in the fall and backed by a giant promotional tour” (Springfield Union, 6/2/77). The Love Gun album would be the band’s highest charting of their original incarnation, hitting #4 on the Billboard Top-200. The period, both album and tour, marked the beginning what is generally considered to the Super Kiss era. The 1977 Love Gun tour (and following tour supporting Alive II) show was impressive and majestic, and certainly represented the band at the zenith of their live performance. But it seems rather strange to consider that the Love Gun tour run covered a meager 32 performances. This box features an early show from the tour at the Montreal on the 12th of July and then material from the two last shows on the tour which took place in Fort Worth in Texas on the 4th and 5th of September, here you have a rarity when Paul Stanley does the vocals on Black Diamond on the 4th of September. These shows is an assault on all of the senses.
