Description

Double album on smokey blue vinyl Egos At The Stake were recorded during Kiss short The Unmasked Tour in 1980. The Unmasked Tour was the first tour not to feature original drummer Peter Criss, and the touring debut of his replacement Eric Carr. Kiss started the tour with a warm up gig at The Palladium in New York on the 25th of July 1980, however the tour would be a failure and Kiss didnt do anymore gigs in the States during the tour. The Unmasked Tour would start on the 29th of August in Italy and it would end on the 3rd of December in New Zealand, a gig that would be Ace Frehleys last gig with the band until the 1996 reunion tour. This was the first time the band did a tour that only reached Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Iron Maiden was the opening act for the European leg of the tour except for the first Uk date at Stafford when Girl supported. The tracks Cold Gin and Strutter returned for The Unmasked Tour. Cold Gin hadnt been played since the Rock And Roll Over Tour and Strutter had been buried since the Destroyer Tour. Egos At The Stake captures the band on the 9th of September at the Wembley Arena in London, England. This was the second night at Wembley and the last show in England during this tour (they only had four dates). The rarest thing with this recording is that it features a live version of Youre All That I Want from the Unmasked album. It was only performed during the first gigs of the tour then it was dropped and replaced by Shandi. Track listing: 1. Detroit Rock City 2. Cold Gin 3. Strutter 4. Calling Dr Love 5. Is That You 6. Firehouse 7. Talk To Me 8. Youre All That I Want 9. 2000 Man 10. I Was Made For Loving You 11. New York Groove 12. Love Gun 13. God Of Thunder 14. Rock And Roll All Nite 15. Shout It Out Loud 16.
