Kiss The Rock The Nation World Tour took place between May and August of 2004. The tour kicked off in Australia where the band announced 5 dates, 8th of May Perth, 11th Adelaide, 13th Melbourne, 17th Sydney and 20th Brisbane. The three last dates on the tour would feature 12 members of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to accompany them on 10 tracks in the middle of the set. Like those who have gone before them–from Deep Purple’s coupling with the London Philharmonic Orchestra back in 1970 to Metallica’s 1999 pairing with the San Francisco Symphony–Kiss’s symphonic partners add a dimension and complexity hitherto absent from their hard-rock ethos. Material from these three gigs where later released as the Kiss Alive IV album. However this wasnt the only surprise for the Australian Kiss fans. The band also performed 3 more shows knows as the “Kiss In Your Face” shows. Tickets for these shows were only available by invitation to members of Inner Sanctum, the Australian Kiss fan club. The three shows were 15th of May Melbourne, 18th Sydney and 22nd Brisbane. This dvd features a rare private, one camera recording, of the first of those three fan club shows which took place at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne on the 15th of May. The band goes on stage without the You Wanted The Best introduction and in the middle of the set the band performs the track Love Here All I Can and All The Way and later they even attempts to jam on The Elder material. Gone for the night are all the fireworks and effects and instead we have a band that is all down for the stripped down rock n roll music
