Kiss had to cancel the Australian tour due to frontman Paul Stanley being sick so the band were eager to get back on stage on this Japan tour to prove that they still got it. And, yes, they most definitely got it. What a tour where the band decided to open the with three classic songs from the 1970s: Detroit Rock City, Shout It Out Loud and Deuce. Three songs that should get the blood on any Kiss fan boiling. This album was recorded during the fourth of the five shows of this tour and that one took place at Kyocera Dome in Osaka on the 17th of December 2019. This show was better than that gig in Tokyo that took place 6 days earlier. The band seemed more tight musically and also more relaxed in attitude. Let Me Go RnR was phenomenal tonight and you can hear the band joking around with each other at the beginning of Black Diamond. The band replaced Crazy Nights with Do You Love me this night otherwise it was the standard setlist. The overall atmosphere felt more relaxed as well. Among the venue staff there were loads of pretty young ladies that wore Kiss make-up and most of them where amenable for selfies. The security staff were also more relaxed and allowed the band to use more pyro so we could enjoy Tommy’s rocket shooting guitar. Yoshiki – composer, classically trained pianist, rock drummer, and leader of the rock band X Japan – was welcomed to the stage by Kiss vocalist and guitarist Paul Stanley. Yoshiki had performed with the band at the Tokyo show and were welcome back this night in Osaka. Yoshiki at at the piano to perform Beth, Kiss’s highest-charting single in the U.S., prompting screams of excitement from the audience that shook the stadium. After the performance of Beth, the crowd was brought to their feet by Yoshiki’s thundering drum performance of the night’s final song, Rock And Roll All Nite. Fans continued their cheers and applause for the historic co-performance of Kiss featuring Yoshiki long after the performers left the stage. For Yoshiki, Kiss was a life-saving force in his childhood as he dealt with the despair caused by the sudden death of his father. Kiss saved my life… Tonight, my dream will come true. Yoshiki posted on Twitter just hours before the show. During the night Paul stated that it was the last time in Osaka, something he never said during the Tokyo show. The Tokyo show gained the highest revenue for the band during all shows played before the corona cancellation. The Tokyo show earned 4-5 times as much as any night during the Canadian and US tour so it makes you wonder if the band will return to Tokyo again when the band reschedule the Australian dates
