Description
Sweden only on dark violet marbled vinyl. Limited 300 copies
There are many great extreme metal bands in Sweden, but only one from Kalix. This remote beauty spot near the Finnish border, on the northernmost shores of the Baltic, is home to Jacob Björnfot, creative mastermind behind melodic black/death metal project Kvaen. Their third album, The Formless Fires, are without a doubt their best work to date and the albm even hit the charts in Sweden. Comments the mainman himself “The Formless Fires is an improvement of everything that Kvaen has released in the past, both songwriting and production-wise. This time around I made zero compromises. The guitar and bass sound just the way I want it – like a wall, the drums are tight, punchy with lots of clarity, the sound that this albums requires. Last but not least – the vocals came out perfect! My best vocal performance to date. Ronnie Bjornstrom really managed to capture exactly how I wanted this album to sound like. For those who loved the black/thrash from the first album and the darker elements from The Great Below will be more than pleased – This is the ultimate Kvaen experience!”. The album also features a guest appearance by Sebastian Ramstedt from Necrophobic on the track Traverse The Nether.
