Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis, better known as the L.A Guns spent almost a decade apart, but reunited in 2017 and released, ‘The Missing Piece’, arguably one of their most critically acclaimed releases. The Made In Milan live album was recorded at the Frontiers Festival in Milan 2017, and is an exhilarating ride. There’s something about a live show that gets everybody going, you’ll be hard pressed not to be enjoying yourself while standing in a crowded arena. You can hear the excited crowd starting to get rowdy in preparation for the LA Guns to take the stage. The energy that comes from a live crowd is always electric, and this one is no exception. There is not just energy from the crowd, oh no, there is buckets of energy exuding from both Guns and Lewis, as well as the live band including Shane Fitzgibbon, and Johnny Martin. You can tell just from listening to how the five work together, how much they’d be playing off of each other on stage in real time. ‘Made In Milan’ is a mix of older classics, such as No Mercy, Sex Action and The Ballad Of Jayne, and soon to be hits like “Speed’ of their latest record ‘The Missing Peace’. However, it didn’t seem to matter if they were playing old, or new songs, the crowd were still energetic and excited, and so were the band. This is a live album that you sit down to, turn the volume up loud, and just enjoy it for yourself. If you want to start somewhere random on this album, I’d definitely recommend track five, Sex Action, because it’s a thing of absolute beauty.
