Rare original Brainticket records release Las Cruces were an obscure doom outfit from San Antonio, TX, whose music owed a great debt to pioneering American acts like Saint Vitus and the Obsessed. Consistently hampered by paltry support from the independent labels that released them, the band's two albums — 1996's S.O.L. and 1998's Ringmaster — found little traction outside of the heavy metal underground. The band played as a local support band for both Mercyful Fate and Solitude Aeturnus at a show in San Antonio, Texas in 1995 and as soon as they had finished their set and Solitude Aeturnus was getting set up, John Perez came over to Mark and George and basically asked them to sign on to Perez own Brainticket Records immediately. However George weren’t able to go to Dallas to record the bands debut album S.O.L. (stands for Solitude Of Lunacy) so it was recorded by the trio of bass and vocalist Mark Zammaron, guitarists Mark Lopez and drummer Michael Hosman.
