BBC Sessions features studio and live sessions the band did for BBC. When it was released on the 11th of November 1997 it was the first release of new Led Zeppelin material in seven years. The box includes tracks from Top Gear recorded in March and June 1969, One Night Stand from the Playhouse Theatre in London in June 1969 and In Concert at the Paris Theatre in London in April 1971. Countless bootlegs of these recordings circulated for years before the official release. This release was widely welcomed by Led Zeppelin fans as it was the first live release since The Song Remains the Same in 1976. Others have criticized the decision to edit some of the songs and drop others that were recorded for the BBC. Most notable are one session from 1969 which included the unreleased song Sunshine Woman and about seven minutes of the Whole Lotta Love medley from 1971. This is the original box set with 4 lps and glossy paper insert with a write-up by Luis Rey on one side and the complete track listing on the other. Each LP has its own glossy black and white picture sleeve
