2008 release of the last Occult album with 3 bonus tracks

Occult’s final album, Elegy For The Weak, originally released in September of 2003 was re-released by Massacre records in January of 2008 under the bands new name Legion Of The Damned. The actual album title and track order was changed too. The album was re-baptized Feel The Blade in 2008. By this time the band Occult had lost pretty much of their black metal outfit and entered the everlasting world of thrash metal. Elegy For The Weak/Feel The Blade is a hellish release similar to Sodom, but this time more melodic than previous Occult album. The guitar tone itself is very similar to Exhorder. The riffing style can be described in two words and that is: Dark Angel – the similarity is obvious and you can see the riffs morphing into each other into nuclear riff assault mayhem. They are really good in what they do, being one of the better thrash metal acts nowadays. Probably the two songs that really impress me are Nuclear Torment and Nocturnal Predator with some well done speed riffing. The band definitely got better and better and it when the black roots disappeared then I can agree that it was time to change name of the band.
