Sometimes considered to be America’s answer to Deep Purple, Legs Diamond’s finely crafted songs have been long admired by many connoisseurs of melodic US hard rock. Legs Diamonds seventh studio album The Wish was released back in 1993. This was the heaviest album they had ever recorded, it contained as ever an impressive variety of styles — although all are firmly in the hard rock genre. The album itself is a solid hard rock album, and about what you’d expect from the band. It’s not terribly original, but it does rock. The Wish and In My Dreams are particularly good tracks that have an epic feel. The rest of the album is made up of solid, middle of the road rock songs. It may not break any new ground, but at least the band wasn’t trying to be Pearl Jam all of the sudden.
