2018 press on silver vinyl. Limited 296 numbered copies

Swedens strangest single and one of the strangest records ever made. This was originally a self-financed Swedish single recorded and released in 1974 in 50 copies. After Leif Andersson (now Leif Källberg) had done his military service and failed to get into the Royal Dramatic Theater, he thought that he after all had a personal voice and maybe would try to become a pop star. He spent 3000 Swedish kronor to get this disc recorded and printed in 50 copies back in 1974. The original idea was to do a couple of Frank Sinatra covers with orchestra, but the orchestra walked out on him. He ended up doing his covers of Cheek To Cheek (Kind Mot kind) and Fly Me To The Moon (Med Andra Ord) acapella. The end result sounds like a mix between Gregorian monk chants and the ravings of a drunk too wasted to speak. After a short time trying to sing on the streets he realized that he couldn’t sing and was taken care of at the Danderyd psychiatric clinic. The record didn’t really come out as he had hoped either and he thought it was poor and after being shelved for 5-6 years he decided to throw away all copies of the single. Less than a handful copies are known among collectors today making it one of the rarest singles in Sweden. 700 copies were re-pressed in 2016. However there were 296 covers left so 296 more singles were pressed on silver vinyl in 2018. For the 2016 re-release they invited Leif to a release party at Mosebacke hotel where he signed autographs. You just need to hear this single as it really is one of a kind
