Lordian Guard, fronted up by Vidonne Jayre-Riemenschnieder, was essentially an extension of epic Metal outfit Warlord, masterminded by guitarist William J. Tsamis, previously known in his Warlord incarnation as Destroyer. Lordian Guard displayed both the power and pomposity of Warlord even reworking much of their predecessor’s material. The band was created in 1995 by Tsamis following his first post Warlord project a solo cassette Sea Of Tranquillity in 1992 under the name of Lordian Winds. Woe To The Inhabitants Of The Earth is the bands debut album and Tsamis was married to Vidonne at the time of the debut’s release. William J Tsamis is a great composer and no written word can ever describe the glorious and ethereal piece of art that this man creates. Every single track is absolutely mystifying, filled with uplifting verses, riffs and tempos that are masterfully composed and executed. Every little musical detail wrings out the essence of a medieval and classical take on heavy metal, even though it is clearly not heavy at all. Truly nothing short of an all-out masterpiece that will set you up in an unexplainable heavenly mood. If you like Warlord youll love Lordian Guard and Lordian Winds.
