Most metal fans that adore the Czech metal scene will talk about Arakain, Citron, Masters Hammer, Root and Törr. All of them have become cult acts in the underground scene and are today mentioned as the most important bands that hailed from their country. Most of these bands however were a bit rough in the edges. So if youre looking for a perfect album that were created on the Czech scene back then that arent under-produced or shows others weaknesses then you need to check out Mac Beths debut album from 1992. Music wise its far from what the others bands mentioned were doing. So if you love Masters Hammer or Root, which you should, then this might not be for you. But if you like traditional 80s melodic hardrock or heavy metal in general then check out this one. Mac Beth’s debut album has a fantastic production, for being from this country, and also has some well crafted songs, a gifted guitarist and an excellent vocalist. The 44-minute portion of music is melodic hardrock with nice ideas and keyboards that borrows both from the European scene and the American melodic scene. However, even if the band were on a higher level than many others and did everything well, and even managed to get signed to Warner/Wea Records before their time was over, they didnt get anywhere. The members themselves said in a radio interview: It’s nice when you open a foreign magazine and there you have us on the left side and Ozzy Osbourne on the right side. But then we come to Klatov to do a concert and there we have 15 people in the audience. After the release of 4 albums, the band was transformed into a softer pop rock band called 0609 that are still around. However vocalist Mira Chrastka left 0609 and joined the Czech group Turbo instead. If grew up on music like Dokken, Pretty Maids then check out Mac Beth
