Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Maelstrom was formed in 1983 by two brothers, Joe and Nick Sanzeri, together with childhood friend Jeff Haske. Their demos has always been extremely hard to find but when some material ended up on interneat a buzz started to spread when fans of 80s speed metal could see and hear their obscure amateur video H-Bomb. Now all these rare demos, including their insane 1986 demo Hammerhead has been brought together for a cd release. Get Chicago Meltdown 83-89 and be prepared for 10 songs of pure Speed Metal madness, with a good amount of early-Exciter / Abattoir vibes. You will get the entire Hammerhead and Break Down The Wall demos, with 2 bonus tracks and a 12-page booklet containing the band biography (written by Joe Sanzeri), band photos and song lyrics.
