Description

The Final Battle Part I, is the first in this trilogy of thunderous Eps. If you read Joey DeMaio’s pressrelease then you can read lines like. “destined to go down in heavy metal history as one of the most insanely epic releases of all time” or “An imperious demonstration of the band’s undisputed mastery of both skull-crushing metal anthems and extraordinary feats of symphonic bombast” and it will also tel you that the music was recorded with “the unparalleled power of their PMC statement monitors with over 27,000 watts of ground-shaking clarity”. ¨So if put these hyped pressrelease aside and see what we actually have here, then the fact is that we get 19 minutes of music for the price of a full album meaning that we have to pay three times as much just to get the music of an album. The other fact is that the first track is just a long intro, the one they used on their Final Battle Tour, Blood And Steel is a mid paced rocker, Sword Of The highlands is a typical Manowar ballad and You Shall Die Before I Die is a slow heavy anthem that actually feels like a long intro for another song and the worst of all, it has DeMaio on vocals. If you have one of metals best singers then use him, dont be so big headed that you think you can do it all by yourself. So to be honest, I do love Manowar music but I hate everything Joey DeMaio stands for nowadays. For me this is just a way to rip off your fans so I dont trust Joey DeMaio’s words when he writes: “The sheer power of these four songs is mind-blowing! We simply couldn’t release more songs at one time; it’s just too much”…yeah right. As far as the music quality you really have to like “Gods Of War” it has that heavy orchestra like feel to it.

Track list:
1. March Of The Heroes Into Valhalla
2. Blood And Steel
3. Sword Of The Highlands
4. You Shall Die Before I Die
