Description
2007 re-mastered release
Master (a.k.a. Mactep) was formed in April, 1987 by Andrei Bolshakov (guitars), Alexander Granovsky (bass), Igor Molchanov (drums), and Kiril Pokrovsky (keyboards) from the band Aria. They left because they wanted to play heavier and faster than Aria’s heavy-metal sound. Vocalist Alexander Arzamaskov from the band Fortress was found, bringing with him second guitarist Sergei Popov. Molchanov came up with the band name. After the first demo the band changed singer two times before they found Mikhail Seryshev. For the third album the band left Russia and went to record in Belgium. The band released their fourth album in 1994 and the second one to be sunged in English. Another very solid thrash injected with a bit of groove. It takes a bit for the album to get started as there is some kind of ‘horror’ sounds thing that lasts 2 minutes before ‘Beastie Generation’ comes roaring in. Crushing riffs and drumming go for a bit before BOOM! All out speed! This is a thrash metal album done in the old style, despite its late release. When compared to ‘Talk Of The Devil’, the production is naturally a lot better, especially regarding how the instruments fit together, and the band sound definitely more vivid on this album.
