Max Lagers band started back in 1979 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The first time Max Lagers played, it was like a pick band where free musicians from other bands were gathered for a gig at the Jazzhuset in Gothenburg. The gig was so successful that Max Lagers decided to continue and within a couple of years the band, Max Lager’s New Orleans Stompers, would become one of Sweden’s leading traditional jazz bands. This cassette only album was recorded on the 7th of January 1989 at Studio 12 in Gothenburg.
