Description
Black vinyl 10” single
In 2000 Mayhem released their most experimental album of their career. An album that really had no boundaries and it shocked most Mayhem fans that the band would create something that almost could be called both left-field and artsy. Yes Grand Declaration Of War was and hard album to swallow for people that were into true black metal. On the other hand it was album that could be digested by metal fans that thought that early Mayhem was crap. For the first time Mayhem showed that they could create sophisticated and creative music. But as I said it wasnt what Mayhem fans wanted. The Ante Bellum single gives you a glimpse of what some of the tracks sounded like in its pre-production stage.
