Quite an obscure act if you go down in the history of thrash metal. There usually are quite alot of info to be found on the internet about old bands but Mersinary isnt one of them (and the fact is that there are more acts on Iron Works/Azra records thats hard to find info about). This band hailed from Las Vegas and started out back in 1982. Two demos later they signed to Dave Richards US metal record label Iron Works / World Metal and Azra records. These are all labels that sends shivers down the spine of every collector. This label released tons of LPs, Pics, Shapes and special editions, and no one seems to know exactly what and how many editions of each record that has been released. All of them in small quantities. The band released their first mini album Chose Death in 1987 and a year later the full length album Dead Is Dead. Iron Works made two releases with the band in 1990 but im not sure if the band were still around then. One of them was the Dead Is Dead, 4-track shaped picture disc that features one exclusive track while the other was a split EP with New Jersey act Rawshock featuring Amulet members. Drummer in Mersinary were David Schiller of Apocrypha fame. This is classic US thrash/speed metal and should be worth checking out for fans of the genre but beware nothing comes cheap when it comes to Mr Richards labels. Worth mentioning is that when Slayer made their first ever live show out of Los Angeles they had Mersinary opening up for them
