A Meshuggah live album recorded during the Ophidian Trek tour in Europe 2013. 6-tracks are taken from the studio album “Koloss”, “Swarm,” “Do Not Look Down,” “The Hurt That Finds You First,” “I Am Colossus,” “Demiurge,” and the instrumental closer “The Last Vigil.” Highlights among the rest include the title track to “ObZen,” “Dancers to a Discordant System” from the same album, and the incredible trio from “Catch Thirty-Three,” “Mind’s Mirrors/In Death–Is Life/In Death–Is Death.” I thought “Koloss” was a fantastic album, so it’s great to have a live companion to it. Meshuggah are the epitome of excellent musicianship in metal, and they show it live by expertly recreating their studio output. “The Ophidian Trek” does not disappoint.
