Messiah from Detroit Michigan was formed in 1979 and was an early Christian metal act and they would go on and release one of the finest Christian metal albums of all time, Final Warning in 1984, and still not many seems to be aware of this band or this album. Messiah took a different road than Stryper or Leviticus who were quoting bible verses into their music. Messiah never mentions Jesus in their lyrics nor do they preach a Christian message. Instead they wrote clever lyrics that dealt with biblical and philosophical themes of good vs. evil, judgement, free will, temptation, sin, Lucifer, and the existence of God. So my guess is that many that actually got hold of the album back in the 80s werent aware that it was a Christian band but just an amazing traditional 80s metal band. The band would go on and release the Going Insane EP the year after and its another monster that are almost impossible to find in its original pressing. This re-issue not only give you a chance to hear this rare album but you will also get bonus material from their 1979 demo not practially no one has heard before. Im sorry Stryper, Jerusalem, Leviticus but heres one band that really did some breathtaking Christian metal music.
