In 1990, Metallica hooked up with producer Bob Rock for a self-titled release that would become better known as The Black Album, due to its cover art. Released in 1991, the black album would become one of the best-selling rock albums of all time, selling over 16 million copies in the US alone. The following tour Wherever We May Roam would be the bands biggest tour of their career when it began in August of 1991 and lasted up to the summer of 1993. During the same period Nirvana released their multi million selling album Nevermind but before Metallica had finished their follow up album to the black album, both Nirvana and the whole grunge moment would be dead and gone. This album was recorded during that mammoth tour at Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden on December the 12th of 1992.
