1996 pressed vinyl single on yellow marbled vinyl
On May 28, 1986, Metallica performed at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during their Damage Inc. Tour—a pivotal moment in the band’s early rise within the heavy metal scene. This tour period, spanning from late March to early August 1986, was marked by Metallica opening for Ozzy Osbourne on his The Ultimate Sin Tour. However, between May 20 and June 14, when Ozzy flew to Japan, Metallica embarked on a series of solo shows, occasionally sharing the stage with Armored Saint. These concerts allowed the band to refine their live presence independently, showcasing their groundbreaking album Master Of Puppets which had been released just months earlier in March 1986, earning widespread acclaim for its complex compositions and aggressive sound. The dynamic between Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne during this tour was notable, especially given the cultural and lifestyle differences between the veteran rock star and the young, vodka-fueled band members. As detailed in a 1986 interview with Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield for Thrasher magazine, the band’s energetic engagement with fans—like jumping into the crowd—was curtailed during joint shows due to Ozzy’s intense fan base. Moreover, restrictions imposed by Ozzy’s crew and wife, Sharon Osbourne, on alcohol consumption highlighted the challenges Metallica faced while touring with the established artist. Despite some tense moments, including near suspension from the tour for minor rule breaches, this experience helped Metallica grow professionally and build their reputation as headliners in their own right. This limited vinyl single features two tracks from the show at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis on the 28th of May 1986
