Rare 1992 double cd in thick jewelcase

When Metallica started planning for their upcoming tour for their eponymous fifth studio album (commonly known as The Black Album) an idea to tour without an support act came up. So the band made it a 3 hrs show and billed it as An Evening with Metallica / No Opening Act. Instead, a video presentation was shown before the concerts actually started which lasted about 20 or 25 minutes. Included might be clips of local sights near the venue, Metallica shopping in local stores, roadies prepping the arena, Lars Ulrich walking around backstage giving introductions and reciting band history, or other band members engaging in various hijinks. The video would conclude with a montage of Enter Sandman with film clips of Clint Eastwood in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The tour was called Wherever We May Roam and it started with two secret warm up shows in Petaluma in August of 1991. A Monsters Of Rock Tour followed through Europe and ending with a massive show at the Tushino Airfield in Moscow. It was after these festival gigs that the band headed back to US to start their Evening With Metallica headlining tour. The tour kicked off in Oakland on October 12 in 1991. These initial North American shows took place in arenas and multiple dates in largely populated areas were not uncommon. The band was at a commercial peak and the tour would last for several years and the bands album would sell millions and millions during the tour. This album was recorded at the Target Center in Minneapolis on the 8th of November 1991 so its quite early into the tour. A few years earlier it would have been hard to think that a thrash metal act like Metallica would be able to tour a 19,000-person basketball arean like Target Center but in the autumn of 1991 it even felt like a small venue and it felt downright intimate. With all those bodies pressed closely together — the general-admission floor looked especially perilous and thrilling — the 2½-hour concert boasted an especially high visceral value. Acoustics weren’t all that great once again, but it didn’t really matter; this was a show you felt as much as you listened to. The band attacked the crowd first with two familiar tracks, Creeping Death and Harvester Of Sorrow and it got the audience participation immediately and there were plenty of fist-pumping shout-alongs directly from the start. Two hours later the band and audience doesnt seems to have lost a bit of steam. All members seems to be in a general good mood and the audience cant get enough. The grand finale features some covers like Misifts Last Caress, Diamond Heads Am I Evil and Queens Stone Cold Crazy as well as the bands speed anthem Battery. When all was over everybody really felt that this Evening With Metallica surely was something you would like to experience again.
